This is a new addition to the SCA site.

We will include community service opportunities for students as well as for adults who just want to contribute their time and skills to the neighborhood.

These activities will include internships, and volunteer openings at schools, churches, parks, librarys etc.

Organization Friends of Forest Hill Park

Saturday, February 27th
Friends of Forest Hill Park, Forest Hill Civic Association, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Ra-More and the City of Richmond Parks and Rec. Department  plans to reclaim the old trails on the Eastern side of Forest Hill Park.  Friends of Forest Hill Park has purchased $3,000 worth of native/specialized plants to go along with 1,500 hard wood saplings that Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay has donated as well as all the plants that Ra-MORE volunteers dug up and staged from the new trail corridor.
       
This will be a fun day planting trees in the park so, come on out and get to know your park neighbor and fellow organizations helping to make this project a reality.  This is a family friendly event so please bring the kids. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Organization Bobcat Sports League (RPS)

Soccer League
(Feb. 2010)
The Bobcat Sports League is a soccer league that practices and plays on the soccer field behind Lucille Brown Middle School.  Many of its players are very poor children of refugees and are not able to enjoy the same level of family support as some suburban programs.
            The program is a 501©3, and is seeking volunteers to help with all phases of the program.
